Plumis‘ Automist sprinkler system has been specified to provide a fire safety solution for 8 converted Art Deco houses in Twickenham.
In between Twickenham Stadium and the River Thames, a collection of period homes have been converted into modern Art Deco properties.
The architects working on the renovation project, ABA Group of Sunbury on Thames, aimed to preserve the houses’ original features whilst achieving an overall contemporary design.
Their proposed design envisaged no separation of the open plan reception rooms, leaving the escape routes unprotected.
Working alongside the appointed Building Control officers, the architects were able to meet the Building Regulations’ fire safety requirements whilst ensuring that each apartment’s open plan design was not affected.
Plumis’ Automist sprinkler system was specified as the solution.
Fitted by accredited installers, Vapourmist, the system introduced a series of active fire protection options to protect the escape routes and assist evacuation.
Plumis Automist was fitted to the domestic water supplies of each property; it operates with much less water than traditional sprinklers, minimising run off in the event of a fire.
