Featuring nine shows under one roof, UK Construction Week returned to the Birmingham NEC between 18th – 20th October, attracting over 30,000 trade visitors and 650 exhibitors to showcase the latest products and debate the construction industry’s biggest issues.
Now in its second year, UK Construction Week comprises the Build Show, Timber Expo, Civils Expo, the Surface and Materials Show, Energy 2016, Plant & Machinery Live, HVAC 2016, Smart Buildings 2016 and Grand Designs Live. The show covered 70,000 square metres of exhibition space, featuring more than 165 hours of seminar content from over 100 speakers.
A total of 13 seminar theatres hosted debates on hot industry topics such as the skills shortage, BIM, offsite construction and intelligent environments, with the main stage hosted by television personality and architect George Clarke, business journalist Steph McGovern and television broadcaster and business journalist Victoria Fritz.
Leading industry companies including CEMEX, Condair, Cotherm, OX Group, Irwin Tools, Banbury and SAVANT introduced a raft of new products and innovations at the event, which also hosted seven award ceremonies including the inaugural Construction Enquirer Awards.

The seminars were really well attended and engagement was high from visitors, which goes to show that we were able to hit the mark in terms of content.
The interest in next year’s show has already started to flood in and with booking the NEC until 2019, we are confident that UK Construction Week will go from strength to strength over the coming years.”
