Chamberlain benefits from integrated Aperio wireless locking solution

University halls benefit from integrated Aperio wireless locking solution

  • 2 Jun 2016

ASSA ABLOY Access Control’s integrated Aperio wireless locking solution has been installed in a new student residence at the University of Birmingham.

Chamberlain is a new accommodation development, consisting of three low-rise blocks and a tower of 21 storeys. The rooms within the residence, which have been designed for the university’s students, have been fitted with ASSA ABLOY’s wireless Aperio locking solution.

Aperio is integrated into the Gallagher Command Centre, which works to deliver organisational security and operational continuity; this relationship provides the university with a cost-effective locking and security solution, which is available and supported globally.

Integrated Aperio solution

Unlike other locking solutions and systems, Aperio provides audit trails online, allowing users to monitor doors in real-time. The university, for instance, will be able to monitor the coming of students during arrivals weekend to ensure that they get to their rooms safely.

Following the successful installation of Aperio, the University of Birmingham plans to roll the integrated system out to its other student residences.
