Makita wins trio of awards for its new cordless rotary demolition hammer

  • 13 Jun 2019

Makita’s Cordless Twin 18V (36V) 40mm SDS-MAX Rotary Demolition Hammer was recently recognised and rewarded for its excellent qualities when it scooped three awards!

The Rotary Demolition Hammer took home Industry Product of the Year at the Hire Awards of Excellence, Innovation Award at the Executive Hire Show Passionate Hire Awards, and the Speedy Expo Product Award.

Launched in 2018, the Cordless Twin 18V (36V) 40mm SDS-MAX Rotary Demolition Hammer is the first cordless SDS-MAX Rotary Demolition Hammer to be introduced into the market by Makita. The tool offers an incredibly high power output, providing operators with an equivalent performance of a 40mm mains-powered machine.

The easy-to-use tool has also been designed with user safety in mind and is the first cordless SDS-MAX Rotary Demolition Hammer to benefit from the new Makita Auto-Start Wireless System (AWS). With AWS incorporated, the tool can be easily connected to compatible Makita dust extractors via a Bluetooth link – once the tool and dust extractor are paired, the extractor will automatically start when the tool is turned on (and will stop when the tool is no longer in use). Any dust produced by the tool is therefore removed from the air instantly, significantly reducing the chance of those onsite inhaling harmful dust.

Plus, the tool also includes Makita’s Anti-Vibration Technology – it has a best in class vibration rating when hammer drilling into concrete at just 5.0m/s² for extended trigger-time. Operators can, therefore, benefit from increased productivity (as performance is smoother, fewer breaks are required) and safety as the chance of vibration-related illnesses – such as Vibration White Finger – is reduced.

Charles Shaw, Hire & Construction Division Manager at Makita said: “Being recognised by three such prestigious awards is testament to the innovative qualities of the Cordless Twin 18V (36V) 40mm SDS-MAX Rotary Demolition Hammer and we are delighted by the accolades.”
