The latest version of Building Regulations is due out this summer and as part of the UK’s response to the climate emergency, energy efficiency is at its heart, with VORTICE well placed for the update.
As a result, new build homes will contain low carbon heating and be as airtight as possible and that means a necessity to specify mechanical extract ventilation systems in order to guarantee good indoor air quality for residents.
VORTICE has been introducing energy efficient ventilation systems for generations and the latest products in the portfolio include a raft of heat recovery systems (MVHR), including the latest, Vort Avel 450D, which is Passive House accredited, as well as centralised Mechanical Extract Fans (MEV) and de-centralised Mechanical Extract Fans (dMEV).
The Vort Notus decentralised fan (dMEV) is SAP Appendix Q eligible and runs continuously in accordance with ADF System 3. It comes with a timer and humidity sensor option and provides a very quiet operating fan suitable for any room. VORTICE is also soon to launch a new Vort Quadro dMEV fan.
VORTICE heat recovery systems offer continuous mechanical extract – as houses become more airtight through efficiency measures, a dearth of natural ventilation means moisture and pollutants from every day activities remain in the home.
MVHR constantly ventilates a property and recovers heat which would otherwise have been lost by passing the stale air which is to be extracted, over a heat exchanger, allowing fresh air to utilise that heat on its way into the property.
Because the range of MVHR products from VORTICE is extensive, the relevant range can be selected depending upon the design of the property and the number of ‘wet rooms’ it contains.
The technical team at VORTICE can help with a complete ventilation system design including duct routes, design key and airflow requirements.
