Keylite’s winning streak continues at Housebuilder Product Awards

  • 25 Apr 2022

Keylite Roof Windows has once again been crowned victorious at another industry awards, this time taking home ‘Best Building Fabric Product’ for its Integrated Expanding Thermal Collar at the 2022 Housebuilder Product Awards.

Supported by HBF and NHBC, with judges from organisations including CPA, HBF, NHBC and leading housebuilders, the Housebuilder Product Awards celebrate excellence in all aspects of the sector.

Winners of the nine product categories were announced earlier this month, along with an invitation to attend a private winner’s lunch on the 9th of June in London.

As a winner of a Housebuilder Product Award, Keylite has also automatically become a finalist in the ‘Product of the Year’ category at the 2022 Housebuilder Awards later this year.

Research shows 97% of roof windows are installed without a thermal collar, resulting in a greater chance of heat loss. Keylite’s patented Expanding Thermal Collar is integrated into the frame of every Keylite roof window no matter what size, style or specification.

It expands to fill and fully insulate the gap around the frame of the window to help eliminate condensation and cold bridging, whilst improving airtightness, Psi Values for SAP, and the overall thermal performance of the roof window.

This couldn’t be more timely, as from the 15th of June, hew homes in England must produce around 30% less net carbon emissions, making products like Keylite’s Integrated Expanding Thermal Collar a vital addition to the home of the future, and helping housebuilders achieve Approved Document L recommendations.

‘Strength to strength’

Jim Blanthorne, Managing Director of Keylite Roof Windows, says: “We are thrilled to take home the title of ‘Best Building Fabric Product’ at this year’s Housebuilder Product Awards. Keylite has been going from strength to strength with awards recently – this is our fourth award win in four months – which is a true testimony to the quality of our products and of our team.

“Huge thank you to the judges and to Housebuilder for crowning us winners, we can’t wait to catch up with all the other worthy winners at the ‘winner’s lunch’ in June.”

Colin Wells, Head of Technical at Keylite, adds: “Extra cost, lack of stock, or simply limited knowledge on thermal collar products can often mean that a thermal collar is never actually installed alongside a roof window.

“In order to make houses more comfortable and energy-efficient, the onus should be taken away from housebuilders and products should be designed and specified with optimum thermal comfort in mind, which is why we offer our unique Integrated Expanding Thermal Collar as standard on all roof windows, at no extra cost.”
