Leading rooflight and lantern manufacturer, Roof Maker, has launched a brand-new range of made to measure energy efficient pitched rooflights with a minimalist low-profile appearance.
Based on Roof Maker’s award winning Luxlite™ range, the unvented SheerLux rooflight sits flush or slightly lower than the surface of a pitched roof (depending on the thickness of rooftiles), creating an uninterrupted roofline suitable for newbuild, retrofit and some heritage projects. As they are made to measure, in sizes from 0.4m to 2m wide, they are a natural replacement for existing timber framed rooflights.
When viewed from the inside of a property, SheerLux has an attractive frameless appearance, increasing the internal glazed area and giving buildings an excellent source of natural light.
The improved thermal efficiency of these triple glazed rooflights delivers whole product U-values of 0.6w/m2k (calculated for 1m x 1m product) allowing flexibility of design whilst lowering some building’s carbon footprint and energy costs.
To help keep the rooflight looking clean and bright, Roof Maker’s easy clean glass coating comes as standard and, for greater UV protection, a range of specialist tinted glazing options and remote-controlled blinds for protection against direct sunlight are available.
Suitable for roof pitches between 16 and 75 degrees, SheerLux is constructed with durable marine grade aluminium powder coated frames and incorporates the company’s innovative built-in flashing apron, which improves weather resistance by allowing the rainwater to disperse and enables quick and easy installation by a builder or roofer.
As with all Roof Maker products, SheerLux comes with a 20-year unit seal warranty – one of the longest in the industry.
The Rooflight Association has published a series of ‘Quickguides’, covering the fire rating requirements for use of rooflights in buildings for each of the four devolved UK nations.
