In this piece, Freefoam is showcasing the installation of Fortex Cladding on a stunning renovation project in rural Shropshire.
The homeowners used the Weatherboard product in subtle Misty Grey on the rear upper elevation and utility extension alongside more traditional materials of brick and render. This mix of pale colours and textures creates a fresh new England style to the property, whilst staying in keeping with the rural surroundings.
The original property was purchased with the aim to renovate and extend. Wanting more garden and open space the house offered the homeowners the right location with the opportunity to create their own home in an established village.
They undertook a major refurbishment project adding an orangery to the rear, re-built the dormer and roof, replaced all windows and doors, built a new master bedroom over the old garage area and added a utility/boot room to the side of the property. Due to the extensive nature of the renovation the front and rear gardens were also re-landscaped and a new driveway added to complete the transformation.
Cladding was key to the vision, with the homeowner finding the Freefoam Fortex range online and research for colour options helped by ordering samples. The final choice of Misty Grey matches perfectly to the new windows and doors to create a beautifully co-ordinated considered look.
The homeowner explains: “We were drawn to the Freefoam cladding range. The idea of maintenance free was a huge benefit, but we also liked the realistic wood print and colour combination was the winning factor.
“We did consider real wood and looked into concrete based products but when weighing up the options we felt this was the best match to the scheme. We picked the Fortex Weatherboard cladding in Misty Grey. I really wanted the overlapped weatherboard for the style I wanted to create so this range was perfect.”
As with many home renovations social media played a part, with the homeowner posting updates, videos and images to Instagram #Shropshirehome as the project progressed and developed generating a following of over 2,000.
The homeowners are recommending the cladding to other followers and has also had a lot of positive comment from local neighbours.
The homeowner adds: “We love the whole transformation but the cladding really does pull everything together. We would 100% recommend Freefoam cladding to other homeowners, from the install to the upkeep, to the range of colours and styles available. We really couldn’t be happier.”
