  • 22 Apr 2024

EJOT UK has taken a major step in the expansion of its support for the flat roofing market by appointing one of its most experienced building envelope fastening specialists as its first sector-dedicated business development manager.

Kevin Rackley (pictured below) steps up to the new role after 21 years in technical sales roles with EJOT, for the majority of that time as the company’s regional sales engineer for the South West. He will continue to work with customers in this territory in the short term before eventually handing over the reins to a newly appointed regional sales engineer in due course.

As business development manager, Kevin will focus on enhancing and building new relationships with customers who specialise in flat roofing, along with OEM membrane manufacturers to co-develop best practice and key stakeholders within the industry including SPRA (Single Ply Roofing Association).

Driving strategy

He will drive EJOT’s strategy to develop its presence in this specialist roofing sector and support regional sales engineers to increase the market penetration for its advanced product portfolio, which is attracting ever increasing interest from installers and OEMs as they seek to deliver client projects with improved longevity and quality.

Kevin’s experience and knowledge is ideally suited to the role. He has over 30 years’ sales experience with all areas of building and construction materials, with two thirds of his career specialising in flat roofing products with EJOT in the UK. He is also a CFA (Construction Fixings Association) certified tester.

Kevin already works closely with the EJOT Group product management team in Bad Laasphe, Germany who have been at the forefront of intelligent fastening solutions for flat roofing systems for many years, and is supported by EJOT UK’s technical team at its Applitec Centre in Yorkshire.

In addition to providing a facility for testing, this state-of-the-art technical centre enables EJOT to collaborate closely with flat roofing customers and OEMs to develop new products and continuously improve installation methodology.

‘Progressive time’

Richard Bowhay, EJOT UK’s Sales Manager for Market Unit Construction, comments: “This is a really progressive time for EJOT in the UK and the next phase in the development of our field-based sales team.

“We’re busy developing new team members for the future growth of the business which in turn, will allow experience and knowledge to be utilised in different ways as we look to partner and support the sector’s most prevalent manufacturers.”

EJOT is one of the industry’s leading manufacturers of fastening systems for flat roofing systems. It offers a wide variety of tube-washer and fastener combinations to provide secure installation to the deck, with or without a membrane, supported by accessories which make installing easier and safer, as well as a host of training, educational and guidance resources.
