  • 3 Jun 2015

The inaugural speaker line-up has been drawn from within and outside the industry, to provide guidance and insights across a broad range of subjects – each underpinning SPRA’s core pillars of “educating, influencing and supporting”.

The initial plenary sessions will discuss ‘getting the best out of single ply’ from design, procurement, installation and maintenance, with contributors from the architectural, main contractor and client perspectives together with SPRA’s Technical Director Jim Hooker.

The second plenary item will focus on sustainability, with leading experts on legislative and voluntary impacts which can benefit the technology.

This will be followed by a choice of breakout sessions – either Competent Roofing, which will look at the competitive advantages that come with competency, or how to use Social Media to drive business growth.

Later, a panel including Graham Wren (CSCS) and Sarah Wicks (NSCC) will discuss the benefits and requirements of “Carding the Industry” to the membership.

In the final address of the day, Arups’ Architect and Associate Director, Casey Rutland will discuss using BIM in project roof design and delivery.

SPRA CEO James Talman and Chairman Mike Crook will provide the opening and closing addresses respectively, providing many opportunities to network with industry professionals, as well as an exhibition and Innovation Lab, which will be open to delegates throughout the Conference.

SPRA members are invited to join the AGM, and all are welcome to the evening Dinner and Awards Ceremony with speaker, Adrian Dobson who is Director of Practice at the RIBA.

SPRA CEO, James Talman: “Our inaugural Conference is an opportunity to get together with industry peers and debate the topics that are important to us in single ply roofing, and we’re delighted to have secured such a great speaker line up.”

“The evening Awards Ceremony will recognise excellence, innovation and talent in single ply roofing, rewarding the individuals and companies who are trailblazing in our industry.”

Conference passes are available for Members and Non Members, with prices starting at just £55, available to book via the SPRA website.
