Updating social housing specifiers on the latest building regulations

  • 1 Apr 2015

The first CMS Technical Masterclass seminar was hosted at CMS’ Innovation Hub and attended by over 30 social housing specifiers

CMS has developed its series of Technical Masterclass seminars to keep social housing specifiers up-to-date with the latest building regulations.

The first seminar in the series of four focused on the regulations that affect window and door hardware specification decisions.

Hosted in conjunction with hardware specialist Yale, the seminar also introduced the specifiers to the new innovations and products that have been developed for the sector.

The seminar featured presentations from Yale’s specification manager, Neil Rabbitts, who worked with the company’s product manager to inform the specifiers on how to meet the latest standards.

Future seminars

The next CMS Technical Masterclass will focus on the developments in the glass and glazing industry.

Scheduled to take place in May, it will be hosted in conjunction with Glassolutions.

The remaining two seminars in the series will be run with insulation systems manufacturer Rockwool and PVC-U systems manufacturer Sheerframe.

By connecting housing specifiers with product and system manufacturers from across the UK, the seminars aim to allow the two to exchange knowledge on meeting the latest building standards.

The seminars will continue to be held at the CMS Innovation Hub.
