The houses at Devonway have benefited from the installation of Alumsc’s Swisslab External Wall Insulation

The estate, known as Devonway, in located in Clackmannan and consists of over 140 terraced houses and bungalows, used for both private and social housing.

The homes have recently been targeted for improvement; they have received a range of energy saving measures as a result of this.

For example, Alumasc’s Swisslab External Wall Insulation (EWI) system was installed to improve the energy efficiency of the estate.

Swisslab External Wall Insulation

Over 8,500 square metres of Swisslab EWI was installed at the properties by Graham Roofing, a registered Alumasc installer from Glasgow.

The insulation was finished in a white, dry dash render to improve the aesthetics of the estate.

After it was fitted, the U-value of the homes fell from 2.08w/m2K to 0.28w/m2K.

Swisslab has been designed as an insulated render system for over cladding existing properties.

Providing a cost-effective way to improve the thermal standards of different buildings, the product aims to make homes warmer and more comfortable.

Since the work has been completed at Devonway, residents have noticed that the temperature in their houses does not drop as low as it did previously.
