Hush-Panel 17 overlay board reduces sound transmission

  • 6 Nov 2014

The board has been made thinner in order to minimise floor build without affecting performance

The board can be laid over existing or new concrete and timber floors and the upper layer of moisture resistant MDF produces a smooth surface for the application of floor finishes.

Field test data has confirmed that Hush-Panel 17 is compliant with Building Regulations Document E and laboratory tests complying with Robust Details can be supplied upon request.

Comprising 9mm moisture resistant tongued and grooved MDF and a 10mm acoustic resilient layer of Hushfelt factory bonded to the underside, Hush-Panel 17 is ideal for areas with limited room height and is compatible alongside a range of systems.

The overlay board exceeds current Building Regulation requirements of Part E for England and Wales, Part H for Scotland and Part G for Northern Ireland when used as part of a recommended sound insulation system.

Hush-Panel 17 can be tiled over if used with Permalayer and a flexible adhesive and can also be used as part of a Code for Sustainable Homes compliant development.

The overall board dimensions amount to 1200mm x 600mm x 17mm, whilst the overall nominal thickness totals 19mm with an over floor deck measurement of 17mm.
