PARSOL ULTRA GREY tint changes light depending on thickness

  • 28 Oct 2014

Being a true body tint, PARSOL ULTRA GREY can change from light grey to an opaque appearance similar to black onyx by varying the thickness, offering a versatile solution for designers needing sheet glass for shower screens, interior dividers and architectural applications.

Adjustable privacy

The tint changes colour depending on its thickness and has a very low light transmittance

Offering a light reflectance of 4% and a transmittance ranging from 10% at 4mm thick down to less than 0.5% at 10mm, the level of privacy can be controlled by varying the level of light in front of and behind the glass.

The PARSOL range offers a high level of aesthetics, with the ULTRA GREY providing a more versatile and in demand product that can give designers a wide variety of creative options.

PARSOL ULTRA GREY is the latest addition to Saint-Gobain’s interior range which includes the environmentally friendly mirror SGG MICRALITE REVOLUTION, the patterned glass SGG DECORGLASS and SGG SATINOVA MATT, a matt-finished translucent glass designed to enhance interior spaces.

Low light transmittance levels

SGG PARSOL ULTRA GREY can be used on furniture including shelves, cupboard doors, tables, partitions internal doors and shower screens.

Giving out a shine and depth of a very intense grey colour, the tint provides a very low light transmittance level and similar processing options to that of body-tinted float glass.

The glass may need to undergo toughening or hardening to avoid the risk of breakage and must be sized and installed in accordance with current regulations.
