Timber rooflight offers sustainabilty and longevity

  • 27 Mar 2015

The Lumen Horizon timber rooflight has been developed with sustainability in mind

The new timber rooflight has been designed to withstand harsh weather conditions whilst providing thermal insulation and sustainability.

It is available as a fixed casement design, with ventilation provided by either manual or electric actuation.

It can be installed on flat or low pitch roofs with or without Lumen’s insulated kurb system.

In addition to this, it is suitable for use on lead, copper, zinc sheet or asphaltic material.

With the Horizon available in a variety of shades, Lumen aims to provide its customers with bespoke rooflight solutions to suit their requirements.

Eco-friendly timber frame

The Accoya timber, which is used to manufacture the rooflights, is environmentally sourced and offers a long life span of around 50 years.

When it is no longer functional, the wood can be incinerated for bio-energy or composted.

It has been recognised within the build industry for its durability and stability.

As a fully recyclable and reusable product, it is also renowned for its environmental credentials.

Self-cleaning triple glazing

The Pilkington Activ self-clean unit, which is also incorporated within the rooflight’s design, allows for easy maintenance.

It has been developed with a special coating that breaks down organic dirt, allowing it to be washed away in the rain.

As triple glazing, it also provides thermal, solar and noise control.
