Walltite spray foam provides insulation at shipping container house

  • 11 Nov 2014

The home was constructed using shipping containers

The closed polyurethane spray foam was applied all over the walls and ceilings to a depth of 125mm to provide airtight insulation with a U-value of 0.2 W/m2K, providing significant energy savings for the life of the building.

Grand Designs presenter, Kevin McCloud, pointed out that the house needs to be beautiful but also warm and comfortable to live in, describing Walltite as the ‘right solution’ for the property.

Walltite is sprayed directly onto the surface to accommodate any shape or unevenness in the wall, following the contours of the metal walls of the containers that form the basis of the modern house to prevent condensation from occurring.

Walltite provides effective airtight insulation and produces significant energy savings

Walltite is supplied via approved Foam Master contractors who have undergone technical training from manufacturer BASF to provide a high standard of installation.

Designer Patrick Bradley aimed to design a stunning country home that is practical and functional but also achieves the highest levels possible levels of energy efficiency.

Walltite is an effective insulation solution for new build walls, roofs and floors and is also suited for application during renovation projects and for retrofitting cavity walls.
