Dow Building Solution’s new inverted roof insulation was launched at an event attended by industry leaders

The event, which took place at ICEBAR LONDON, was attended by more than 70 architects, specifiers and roofing contractors, including representatives of the Department for Energy & Climate Change (DECC).

ICEBAR LONDON was chosen to host the event as it demonstrates the importance of good insulation; its walls, bar, tables and drink glasses are all make from clear Swedish ice.

XENERGY SL has been manufactured with infra-red particles which are incorporated into the extruded cell walls.

The particles disperse and reflect heat radiation which reduces heat transfer to keep a building cool during the summer and warm throughout the winter.

The product has been designed as a replacement for Dow’s STYROFOAM ROOFMATE SL-A. Its insulation performance has been improved by around 11%.

The product is being produced at Dow’s Kings Lynn production site as, by manufacturing it in the UK, the company hopes its appeal to specifiers who are environmentally conscious will increase.

XENERGY SL has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) and Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) of less than 5.
