Stroma Certification’s introduction of a third party scheme gives electricians the chance to contribute to upholding standards within the industry.
The scheme gives electricians the responsibility for completing installation checks, a job that was previously carried out by Building Control.
This enables them to promote good practice within the industry,
The procedures put into place by Stroma’s third party scheme require non-compliant installations to be reported. The third party inspector is responsible for correcting the installation and making it safe.
This resolves a previous issue as past instances of non-compliance were not always reported back to Building Control, creating potential dangers as errors were left unchecked.
As the demand for qualified installers is growing among the general public, Stroma’s third party scheme gives electricians certification from an industry body which will enable them to advertise their services to a wider range of customers.
Electricians can get membership of the new third party scheme for free when joining Stroma’s Part P Competent Person Scheme.
