Sustainable housing solution

The concept for the house was developed to address the need for affordable, sustainable housing in the UK. Designed in conjunction with ARUP, the e4 brick house model focuses on energy, economy, environment and emotion.

Johnstone’s is the first decorative coating manufacturer to receive certification which complies with the European Standard EN 15804. The EPD verification allows architects to accurately compare competing materials from an environmental perspective.

Johnstone’s Marketing Director Jason Metcalf commented: ñAs a brand that puts a real emphasis on sustainability, we were delighted to be asked to be involved with this fantastic project.

ñOur EPD verified products were the perfect solution to help the Wienerberger e4 brick house meet its impressive ambition of changing the face of affordable and sustainable housing.î
