New heat interface units control heating in multi-residential buildings

  • 18 Mar 2015

The small components within the Logic Heat Interface Units (HIUs) make them a lightweight and compact heating solution for multi-residential buildings

The Logic Heat Interface Units (HIUs) have been designed to operate as an interface between a residential building’s centralised heating plant.

Each unit contains electronic control valves that react to changes within the primary system almost immediately, enabling it to respond quickly to user demands.

The Logic HIUs have been designed to be efficient with an enhanced condensing function: the units help the primary system’s return water to reach below 40°C for hot water and below 50°C for radiator systems.

An energy efficient solution

By electronically controlling the output of hot water and heating to match the demand, the  Logic HIUs deliver energy efficiency.

The units also feature an insulated cover to reduce heat loss and save more energy.

Indirect and Direct units

Ideal Commercial Boilers has created a series of direct and indirect Logic HIUs.

Its Indirect 50 and Indirect 75 units utilise two independent plate heat exchangers to provide heating at 15kW and hot water at 50kW and 75kW respectively.

Alternatively, heat is delivered to the Logic HIU Direct units from the primary circuit, whilst hot water is supplied via a 50kW plate heat exchanger.

Unlike the direct units, the indirect units can be installed quickly as they do not require a pressure independent control valve to function.

Both types of unit can be fitted with a heat meter which records the energy used in each individual apartment within a multi-residential building.

The meter also allows for the energy output to be changed to suit different requirements.

The units have all been designed with pump exercise programs to prevent them from seizing. Developed to be reliable, they are provided with a 2 Year Warranty from Ideal Commercial Boilers.

In total, four Logic HIUs are available: the Indirect 50 and Indirect 75 units and the High Temperature and Medium Temperature direct units.
