  • 5 May 2015

The Counter Terror Expo was held between the 21st-22nd April at the Olympia Exhibition Centre in London. It featured over 300 exhibitors showcasing the latest counter terror technology and solutions.

The Counter Terror Expo was held over two days at the Olympia Exhibition Centre in London.

James Lee, Head of GGF Group Marketing and Communications highly praised the event and hoped to continue the partnership over to next year:

“This was the fourth consecutive year that the GGF has exhibited at Counter Terror Expo and each year it just seems to get bigger and better.

Though next year will be an extremely busy events schedule for the GGF, we have already penciled Counter Terror Expo 2016 in the calendar.”

GGF Presentations

At the Counter Terror Expo GGF delivered two presentations on the Advanced Technology Stage theatre, aimed at end users, decision makers, purchasers, influencers and specifiers.

Ian Penfold, Chairman of GGF Window Film Group, kicked off the first day demonstrating “How window film can enhance protection against terrorist attack.”

The presentation explored how retrofitting window film can enhance glazing security.

On the second day of the exhibition, Richard Kells, Chairman of GGF Special Application Glass Group, presented “Technological advancements that make glass and glazing more resistant to terrorist attack.”

This covered how glass has been developed in order to resist attacks from ballistics and explosives, as well as manual attack.

Richard also discussed how EMI/RFI (Electro-magnetic or Radio Frequency Interference) shielding is being produced in glass to prevent terrorist attack on electronic communications.

Commenting on the Counter Terror Expo, Richard said: “It was a great event and I was delighted to be asked to present on the subject of security glazing and the technological innovations that have raised the standards considerably over the last few years.

The audience who attended the presentations and those who visited the GGF stand had some diverse and interesting enquiries and I hope they found our information and presentations useful for their counter terror solutions.”
