Data extraction technology for Carbon Monoxide Alarms

  • 13 Apr 2015

AudioLINK has been installed as standard in Aico’s Carbon Monoxide (CO) Alarms

AudioLINK has been installed into Aico’s mains powered CO Alarms, Ei261 and Ei262, as well as its Lithium battery powered Ei208 CO Alarm range.

Developed to extract data from the sounder of the Alarms, AudioLINK converts its findings into an Alarm Status Report, which can be viewed and stored on the AudioLINK App.

Free to download on smartphones and tablets, the App displays the Report in simple format; in depth information can be obtained by tapping onto the desired area.

It can also be forwarded via email or stored in a special location for future reference.

Alarm Status Report

To demonstrate the urgency of each issue, the Report is colour coded. It displays useful information about the Alarm, such as battery life, alarm sensor status and the number of times it has been tested.

It also shows detection levels of CO, including background CO with details of when it was detected.

The information is generated in real-time, meaning that any issue can be dealt with instantly.

Benefits for landlords

The collected data is stored for the Alarm’s entire life-span; it can be extracted as many times as is required.

With its ability to retain old data, AudioLINK has proved popular with social landlords as it can be used as part of the property checks prior to changing over to new tenants.

The technology can also contribute towards the yearly Gas Safety Checks (CP12).

Aico predicts that landlords in the private sector will also embrace the new technology as new changes in legislation will require them to fit their properties with working Smoke and CO Alarms.
