BM TRADA extends Wood for Good contract with more CPD’s

These events, supporting the Wood for Good campaign,.will run alongside a series of regional seminars delivered by BM TRADA’s Technical Consultants.

Demand for the training has with already over 135 enquiries for in-practice CPD.

The training will cover updates/changes to relevant British and European Standards, Building Regulations and timber products and include case studies to highlight what can be achieved when constructing using timber and outline the decision-making steps undertaken by the practice involved.

BM TRADA experts will also address concerns expressed by construction professionals about the use of wood for specific applications.

What architects can expect from the training

  • learn more about the role of timber in low-carbon construction
  • how to get the best out of timber in construction
  • external timber cladding
  • specifying and detailing for durability
  • modern methods of timber construction

Engineers will get an update on Eurocode 5, engineered wood products and what can be achieved with them and Timber connections

BM TRADA’s Technical Consultants will also provide CPD ‘surgeries’ of up to 30 minutes, giving delegates the opportunity to submit technical questions for discussion after the event.

The Wood for Good campaign works on behalf of the whole timber industry in the UK. It aims to promote the suitability and sustainability of wood as a building material to the construction and logistics sectors and associated professionals such as architects and design engineers.
