The latest ABC D magazine features a story about how the Co-op’s former head office will achieve 80% lower carbon emissions, and 50% energy reduction, saving an around £500k per annum. Even the football stadiums for the next FIFA World Cup in Russia are being assessed under BREEAM.
Positive economic outlook is underpinned by a couple of reports last week: Glenigan report that construction is activity set to rise by more than 7%; CPA say 100% of construction product manufacturing firms report rising sales in Q2, the 5th consecutive quarter of rise; and the BDA report a massive rise in brick production as new homes are being built at the fastest rate for a decade.
