TG320 Forte safety gloves

Safety gloves specified for use at aerospace manufacturing operation

  • 26 Oct 2015

Following a product trial, Magellan Aerospace has contracted TraffiGlove to supply its safety gloves for use at the company’s manufacturing operation in Northern Ireland.

Magellan Aerospace, which supplies aluminium parts and products to Airbus, Boeing and Bombardier, decided to trial TraffiGlove’s safety gloves after its engineers raised concerns that their original gloves were only lasting for one week at a time.

The company required a longer lasting solution to ensure sufficient hand protection for its 80 glove wearing operatives.

Safety gloves from TraffiGlove

TraffiGlove supplied its TG320 Forte safety gloves, which combine dexterity and high abrasion and tear resistance to offer medium level cut protection. The gloves have been specifically designed for use in dry conditions, such as manufacturing or engineering situations.

The company also provided its high-level cut protection TG535 Secure safety gloves, which are better suited for use in demanding wet and dry conditions.

The TG535 Secure has been designed with a foam plus coating across the palm to provide excellent grip; the gloves’ full-length cuff offers additional protection.

Preventing hand accidents

Since introducing TraffiGlove’s safety gloves, Magellan Aerospace has noticed an improvement in health and safety and a decrease in hand accidents amongst its operatives.

The company’s operatives reported that the safety gloves tend to last for two weeks.
