Doors with SWISSPACER Ultimate warm edge spacer bars

Warm edge spacer bars installed to improve new build thermal efficiency

  • 2 Nov 2015

The thermal efficiency of a six-home new build has improved since doors with SWISSPACER Ultimate warm edge spacer bars were installed. CWG Choices worked with Ampthill Glass Centre to complete the project.

The new build, which is based in Edlesborough, Bedfordshire, accommodates six sealed units, which measure more than 4 square metres each.

The units have been fitted with triple track sliders; two panels of each door slide behind the third to create a generous opening, which improves visual access to the surroundings.

Energy efficiency with spacer bars

When specifying windows and doors, it is important to consider energy efficiency. For this reason, SWISSPACER Ultimate was selected to ensure the best thermal performance for the units.

As a warm edge spacer bar, Ultimate allows for energy savings; it incorporates a High Tech Gas Barrier to prevent moisture from getting in, and insulation gas from getting out, of the sealed unit.

SWISSPACER offers 17 spacer bar colours to ensure that a range of applications can benefit from the technology. For the project in question, black spacer bars were specified to compliment the grey door frames.
