Sandford St Martin's Primary School benefitted from Clobbers airtightness accessories

Klober airtightness accessories installed at £4m primary school

  • 4 Nov 2015

Michaels Lyons Architecture specified a range of Klober products as part of a £4.3 million primary school development in Wareham, Dorset.

Klober’s Wallint 50 and Solar air barriers were installed at the newly built Sandford St Martin’s 2FE Primary School, in conjunction with Pasto sealant and 400 rolls of airtightness tape for the buildings roof.

Wallint Solar is Klober’s latest reflective air barrier and vapour control layer. The product provided vapour resistance of over 500 MNs/g, far exceeding the requirements set out in the BS9250 Code of Practice for airtightness in pitched roofs.

In addition, the airtightness tapes sealed ceilings, laps and nail penetrations in underlays to minimise energy loss.

Architect Tim Scrace commented: “Having worked with Klober on a previous school in which airtightness was a requirement, I knew their products would help achieve the level required.

Our practice takes great pride in its ‘sustainable approach’ so good technical support was particularly important.”
