Equipment Tagging System from Scafftag

Equipment tagging systems recommended for safe work at height

  • 4 Nov 2015

Designed for work at height purposes, Scafftag’s range of Equipment Tagging Systems can be used to communicate the status of equipment to ensure safe work at height.

When undertaking work at height, construction companies can face a number of issues. Falls are one of the most common causes of major and fatal injuries to workers; it is, therefore, crucial that access related equipment is properly managed and maintained.

By implementing Equipment Tagging Systems, construction workers can avoid potential accidents; they can be used to aid equipment identification, inspection and test and maintenance processes.

Equipment Tagging works by attaching a Tag Holder onto an item of equipment at the point of use, where it is visible to the user. Equipment specific Inserts are used to record information relating to the equipment’s inspection and maintenance checks.

If the equipment is considered fit for use, the Insert is placed into the Tag Holder; if it fails its inspection, the Insert is removed to display a ‘DO NOT USE’ and prohibition sign on the Tag Holder.

This communication allows managers and employees to make informed decisions.
