Portable foundations provide safe alternative to concrete pads

  • 11 Nov 2015

Jackpad has recently completed a number of prestigious contracts, supplying its portable foundations for office units at Severn Trent Water’s Netheridge plant and Willmott Dixon’s latest student flat building project.

Suitable for single, two and treble storey modular buildings, Jackpad’s portable foundations offer impressive environmental credentials.

The company, which exhibited at the Offsite Construction Show last month, has found that its system is increasingly being used by architects, specifiers and contractors.

Portable foundations for prestigious projects

It was recently used by Costain at Severn Trent’s Netheridge Treatment Works, for example. Offering a safe alternative to the installation of concrete pads, the system was specifed to support temporary cabins and office units.

Willmott Dixon also chose Jackpad’s system for a block of flats in Brighton; it required site offices to be in place for a 52 week period. By using portable foundations in place of concrete slabs, the workers were able to install and remove the foundations easily.

“Our Environmental KPI’s will reflect a far more environmentally friendly solution,” adds Willmott Dixon’s Managing Director, Kris Cartwright.
