Dry flooring system guide

Comprehensive guide showcases Fermacell dry flooring systems

  • 23 Mar 2016

Fermacell has published a new 64-page guide on specifying and installing its dry flooring systems.

The brochure explains how Fermacell’s dry flooring systems can be used in place of conventional wet screed concrete flooring. The system’s excellent thermal properties also make it an efficient overlay to underfloor heating systems, and the addition of an optional wood fibre layer gives it excellent acoustic characteristics.

The guide also provides a step-by-step overview of the flooring system’s potential applications including home, office and shopping areas, as well as the loads to factor in for each. It also advises on the substrates that Fermacell flooring can be installed on such as solid floors, timber joists with structural decks and trapezoidal steel sheet floors. The floors can also be enhanced with a honeycombed acoustic infill.

The brochure offers step-by-step advice for flooring that is exposed to moisture and humidity, and how Fermacell’s cement-based Powerpanel H2O can provide a solution.

Six pages of the guide feature example drawings of construction details for all the different flooring combinations, whilst another 11 pages advise on building physics and construction performance in areas such as fire protection, sound insulation and material usage and installation times.
