Lucideon launches testing service for curtain wall systems

Lucideon has extended its construction services to include the testing of curtain wall systems to BS EN 13830 and CWCT standards.

Lucideon’s expert engineers test curtain wall systems to prove performance, identify potential issues and advise on product development whilst ensuring the safety and consistency of all systems.

Testing of curtain wall systems is carried out in its purpose-build test suite, which includes air leakage, impact resistance, rain penetration, structural serviceability, glass and anchor bolt pull-out testing.

The company’s test suite for curtain walling includes its unique wind loading facility – an enclosed system with fully programmable controls of the loading parameters. The test suite also includes hygrothermal rigs, which allow engineers to test the performance of systems when exposed to extreme changes in temperature and humidity. 

Curtain walling can offer a lightweight and cost effective option for a building’s façade, ideal for both new projects and refurbishments.
