Kee Safety has launched a new range of self-closing safety gates: Kee Gate has been designed as a safety solution for industrial workers, which can be used at height and on ground level.
Kee Safety has developed Kee Gate to ensure maintenance, inspection and warehouse staff can carry out their jobs, whilst following best practices and complying with current safety standards.
The gates can work both internally and externally; they have been designed to work on ladder and stair access points, as well as roof hatches, walkways and roof tops.
Manufactured from galvanised steel, the metre-wide Kee Gate can be supplied with a safety yellow powder coating. It can be fixed quickly and efficiently to existing posts, stringers or supporting structures with standard ‘U’ bolts, which are recommended for fixing to uprights of 33.7, 42.4 and 48.3mm diameter.
Kee Safety has developed an additional fixing pack to allow the gate to square, angle or flat uprights.
When used incorrectly, traditional forms of protection, such as bars, sliding tubes and chains, can create hazards, which can lead to injuries. Kee Gates are spring loaded to ensure that they close automatically behind the user: this provides additional security, which reducing the potential for human error.
The gates have been tested to guarantee complete reliability: in an abuse test, weights were suspended from a Kee Gate to assess its ability to cope with pressure, whilst life cycle tests to BS 6375-2:2009 Clause 6.5 revealed the system’s durability.
Kee Gate also complies with the expectations of EN 13374 Class A, EN ISO 14122 Part 3 & Part 4. It meets the international O.B.C, I.B.C and OSHA requirements and is CE marked to EN 1090.
