Glazing systems specified for high-rise Signal Building development

  • 28 Apr 2016

Senior Architectural Systems has supplied a comprehensive glazing package to the new Signal Building in London’s Elephant & Castle.

Designed by Direct Tech, the tower accommodates a combination of retail and commercial space on its lower levels, and high specification residential housing on the upper floors.

The building’s twenty-two floors have been arranged in open plan, triangular shapes. They feature private terraces to the front and rear; natural light enters the building through the windows on all three of its facades.

Glazing systems from Senior

A range of Senior glazing systems, which were designed and fabricated by Glass and Glazing, were specified for the Signal Building. Developed for use in such high-rise applications, Senior’s SMR900 aluminium curtain walling has been used to create the building’s dramatic façade.

Its thermally-efficient SPW600e window systems and doors have also been specified to introduce light into the interior and provide secure external access to the terraces.

Finally, Senior’s SD doors have been installed on the ground floor, to deal with its high traffic environment.
