Construction industry given chance to pledge its support for leading charities

  • 23 May 2016

Construction industry charity, The Lighthouse Club, is one of four charities nominated to benefit from a £20,000 donation pot pledged by Hudson Contract.

The leading construction audit, contact and payroll provider has launched the initiative to celebrate its 20th anniversary and give something back to both the industry and leading good causes.

Anyone can vote for their preferred charity by visiting the Hudson Contract website, with each one receiving a percentage of the £20,000 pot based on the total number of votes it receives online before Friday 27th May.

The four charities the public can vote for are:

1. Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) – preventing young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and supporting affected families

2. Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) –  charity funded lifeboat search and rescue service, dedicated to saving lives at sea

3. Children with Cancer UK – national children’s charity funding research, welfare and campaigning projects to help children with all types of cancer

4. The Lighthouse Club – construction industry charity dedicated to providing support to workers and their families

Ian Anfield, managing director of Hudson Contract, commented: “What better way to celebrate 20 years in business than by launching a charity initiative that will make a real difference to four fantastic causes that are very dear to our hearts.

With us having worked in the construction industry for 20 years, we also wanted to ensure that The Lighthouse Club was included as it provides such invaluable support to workers and their families. Voting takes seconds and we’d urge everyone in the industry to pledge their vote online before Friday 27th May.”

Pledge your vote by visiting the Hudson Contract website, which will also provide a live update on the amount of money each charity has been voted to receive.
