Eurocodes 5 training

Book Eurocode 5 training with Exova BM TRADA

  • 2 Jun 2016

As a suite of European standards applicable to all construction work in all materials, Eurocodes are important industry standards. Exova BM TRADA will be holding a one day workshop on the concept and essentials of Eurocode 5 in High Wycombe on Tuesday 5th July 2016.

Eurocode 5 (EC5) replaces the British Standard BS5268 in relation to timber structures.

The course will compare the two standards and will enable delegates to understand and work to the design philosophy of the new standard.

Designed for engineers, engineering technicians and those interested in the design and checking of timber structures to EC5, the course will deliver an introduction to base and loadings Eurocodes and will provide delegates with an understanding of BS EN 1995.

The course also covers material properties and introductions to BS EN 338 (solid timber), BS EN 14080 (glulam) and BS EN 12369 (panel products).

It will examine design elements such as flexural members, vibrations, notches and buckling; and provide an introduction to connections, covered by section 8 of Eurocode 5 and BS EN 14592.
