PURe windows at the Pavillions

Energy efficient PURe windows specified for the Pavillions tower

  • 22 Jun 2016

Senior’s PURe window system has been used to improve energy efficiency in the latest phase of the Pavilions development in Tottenham Hale.

The Pavilions residential development forms part of London’s regenerated Hale Village, offering high specification waterside apartments, which have been developed by Bellway Homes.

Sustainable design was a key consideration for the project’s architects, RMA: the building boasts a multitude of ‘green’ features, including nature roofs, open green spaces and wildlife corridors. The development itself will be powered by an energy centre, which runs on recycled woodchip, to reduce greenhouse emissions as the project progresses.

PURe windows

Senior’s PURe windows were specified to complement the building’s eco features and supplement its environmental credentials. Chosen for their ability to comply with the specification’s thermal requirements, the windows have had a positive effect on reducing the overall carbon calculations of the building thus far.

The windows benefit from a thermal barrier, manufactured from expanded polyurethane foam (PUR), which has been designed to produce low U-values of 0.71/W/m2K when calculated as a commercial CEN standard window.

The PURe system is manufactured with existing tools from aluminium, offering ‘cradle to cradle’ recycling; the PUR thermal barrier can be recycled and re-used as fillers for other products, with no requirement for landfill.

Fabricated by A Plus Aluminium, the windows were installed at the Pavillions alongside Senior’s SPW600e door systems, which provide access to the apartments’ external terraces and balconies.
