James Wood, an associate architect at Lee Evans Partnership, has been awarded a bespoke, hand-carved ‘Beefeater’ sculpted at the Tower of London by Keymer.
The clay sculpture was awarded to James Wood at a recent Wienerberger event, celebrating Keymer’s heritage at the Tower of London in late 2015.
The ‘Beefeater’ was created by Ian Martinson, Production Team Leader at Wienerberger, demonstrating the expertise and precision used within the production of Keymer handmade tiles, as well as other areas of the heritage service, such as finials.
James Wood commented on the ‘Beefeater’, saying: “I’m thrilled to now be the proud owner of the clay Beefeater sculpted in the prestigious Tower of London by Ian. The workmanship that has been put to use in creating the sculpture is clear to see – it’s a very impressive model and one that displays the true skill involved in hand carving clay.”
