Coloured vinyl flooring for Chorley Hospital’s Urgent Care Centre

New hospital ward fitted with printed, colourful vinyl floor

Forbo Flooring Systems has supplied a selection of colourful and digitally printed vinyl floor coverings to create a vibrant setting for the patients and staff of Chorley Hospital’s Urgent Care Centre.

The Urgent Care Centre was designed by Frank Whittle Partnership’s David Simmons. A range of Forbo’s floor coverings were specified for the project: Eternal was combined with digitally printed vinyl to create a bespoke flooring design to complement the hospital’s brief.

Colourful vinyl floor specification

For the children’s waiting areas, an underwater scene of tropical fish was printed onto the floor covering. Eternal was installed throughout the centre’s corridors, main waiting areas and reception in a wooden silver chestnut colourway.

To contrast this natural aesthetic, Eternal was specified in bright shades, such as Petrol Sparkle and Honey Sparkle, for the wards and consulting rooms.

Blocks of bright colours were scattered throughout the waiting area, matching the shades used in the reception desks, hospital furniture and different rooms on the wards.

The Eternal range has been coated with a PUR Pearl finish to enable easy cleaning and maintenance. The product was deemed suitable for installation in a hospital environment, where a high standard of hygiene is required.
