Vent-Axia’s Sentinel Kinetic Advance has been shortlisted in the Commercial Ventilation Product of the Year category at the HVR Awards 2016. Winners will be announced at the HVR Awards ceremony at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel in London on Thursday October 27th.
Part of Vent-Axia’s Kinetic range of MVHR units, the Advance is a whole house heat recovery system designed to combine supply and extract ventilation in to one unit. The unit is proven to recover 93 percent of heat that would be otherwise wasted. Earlier this month the unit was named a finalist at the Electrical Industry Awards.
Designed for air-tight, thermally efficient new builds, the Advance is a web-enabled MVHR unit that features commissioning and control through Vent-Axia’s app. The unit is also compatible with USB to enable pre-commissioning, saving time on developments with same specification builds.
The Sentinel Kinetic Advance unit tops the PCBD list as the best performing MVHR system in its class for energy performance. The unit boasts a specific fan power of 0.38W/l/w with 93 percent heat recovery and airflow of 100l/s at 150Pa.
The product runs at a quiet volume, with trickle settings up to 40 percent staying below 20dBA.
Vent-Axia’s free-to-download app enables residents to control their indoor air quality (IAQ) via their smartphones, allowing them to boost the unit and view efficiencies and temperatures.
The MVHR unit features filters up to F7 grade which ensure that even buildings in heavily urbanised areas can filter out most impurities, including PM2.5 particles.
The app features a filter check warning which alerts building occupiers when filters need changing. The alerts are also available via email.
Advance also features a programmable summer bypass option setting that enables the controls to determine whether it is winter or summer automatically, ensuring maximum comfort year-round.
For further cooling, a similar evening purge feature boosts early evening and then runs on a timer until about 10pm so that there is no nuisance noise at night. During periods of several days of high temperatures and warm nights, Advance utilises a night-time purge option.
This allows a building to be pre-cooled for the following day by taking advantage of cooler night-time temperatures.
