CS 77 turn before tilt window relaunched for accessible homes

  • 17 Nov 2016

Reynaers has launched an accessible variant of its CS 77 window to meet the requirements of the Lifetime Homes Standard and categories 2 & 3 of Document M.

The ‘turn before tilt’ window has been redesigned with the handle centrally positioned on the bottom rail of the window, keeping the handle easily within reach for disabled and elderly people.

The CS 77 variant has been developed in line with the latest regulations, including the Wales Lifetime Homes Standard, which comprises 16 design criteria that aim to make all new homes accessible and adaptable to accommodate the needs of occupiers for an entire lifetime.

The windows also meet the requirements of categories 2 & 3 of Document M in the Building Regulations for England for wheelchair users.

When the handle is turned 90 degrees, the window can swing inwards, whilst turning the handle 180 degrees will allow the window to tilt inwards at the top for ventilation

The maximum vent weight of this window system is 80kg, with a maximum vent size of 2.2m2.
