fermacell introduce impact warranty for gypsum fibreboard panels

  • 21 Nov 2016

fermacell has launched a new impact warranty for its gypsum fibreboard panels that guarantees that all partitions will not be damaged during normal use in buildings.

The warranty extends to all partitions and linings detailed in the fermacell ‘dry-lining solutions for education’ brochure and is valid for any type of building in the UK or Ireland, subject to conditions.

If conditions are met and impact occurs, fermacell will either supply there materials to effect a repair to the impact-damaged boards tighter with associated instructions, or replace the boards entirely.

Conditions include the exclusive use of fermacell boards, fermacell steel profiles and fermacell accessories, original installation by a fermacell contractor in accordance with fermacell approved installation methods, and installation inspection during construction by a fermacell representative.

fermacell gypsum fibreboard panels are denser than plasterboard and are both fire and water resistant. The acoustically efficient board outperforms the severe-duty rating of BS 5234 Part 2 in the Department of Education’s SSLD (Standard Specifications, Layouts and Dimensions) document, demonstrating its load-bearing strength and impact resistance.
