Crothers Security named Irish Locksmith of the Year

  • 25 Nov 2016

Crothers Security has been recognised as the Locksmith of the Year at the recent Irish Security Institute Association (ISIA) Awards 2016. The award was presented by Abloy UK at the Powerscourt Hotel and Resort Spa in County Wicklow.

The ISIA Awards recognise achievements across all aspects of the security industry, from manned guarding through to electronic security and locksmiths.

The awards also come at an important time within the Irish security industry, as Ireland’s locksmith sector will be overhauled in 2017 with the introduction of Private Security Authority (PSA) licensing and new Building Regulations that will define the correct product combinations for Escape and Fire Door applications.

The Building Regulations will ensure that regulations are aligned with European Harmonised Standards.

At this year’s awards, three locksmiths were shortlisted within the Locksmith of the Year category, with Crothers Security announced as the eventual winners.

Crothers Security has been operating for 36 years, providing 24-hour burglary repair in Dublin.  Since opening the first Crothers retail outlet and locksmith shop in Walkinstown in 1982, the company has since expanded its services into electronic security including Access Control, CCTV and intruder and fire alarms.

It is the third time the company has collected the ISIA Locksmith of the Year Award.
