Ellis Patents has announced the promotion of Stephen Walton to the position of chief engineer, just 12 months after joining the company in 2015.
Stephen is a mechanical design engineer with almost two decades of experience, having previously worked at Forum Energy Technologies in North Yorkshire, in the role of global tooling manager.
Since joining Ellis he has played a key role in the development of a number of new Ellis products since joining, including a trefoil version of the Centaur cable saddle.
Commenting on his appointment, Ellis managing director Richard Shaw said: “In the short time Stephen has been with us he has made a real impact on a number of different levels, including new product development, and the work he has done on our existing products and on behalf of various customers.”
As a result, when it came to identifying a candidate to fill this division leading role there was only one choice.”
Stephen added: “When I moved to Ellis last year I did so because I wanted a new challenge, so to find myself rewarded for rising to it so successfully just 12-months later is a huge compliment.”
Power tool manufacturer Makita has added a new battery powered wheelbarrow to its extensive LXT outdoor power equipment range.
