Permo extreme underlay designed for low pitch extension roofs

  • 22 Dec 2016

Klober has developed an underlay to enable the use of plain tiles on low pitch extension roofs.

Builders are faced with a number of problems, when designing and constructing housing extensions. Existing windows or pipework, for instance, may impede the pitch needed to match tiles or slates on the main building.

Klober’s Permo extreme underlay offers a solution for low pitch extension roofs.

The underlay has been designed with a minimum pitch of 12.5° for profiled tiles and 15° for flat tiles; it is, thus, suitable for plain tiles, which usually need to be laid up to 40°.

Boasting resistance to tear and puncturing, Permo extreme’s fleece incorporates a capillary stop to prevent the formation of condensation. In recent tests, the membrane has achieved a wind shear resistance greater than 300 N.

A thermoplastic polyurethane coating works to provide weatherproofing protection; double self-adhesive strips ensure a permanent seal at laps.

Permo extreme can be laid on 12mm ply or OSB sarking board; Klober’s Butylon Tape can be applied beneath battens to seal around any nail penetrations.
