Stannah Piccolo Lift stars in new Low Carbon District Energy Centre

  • 16 Feb 2017

The new Low Carbon District Energy Centre, the largest residential new-build district heating system in Europe, features Stannah‘s Piccolo Passenger Lift.

The Piccolo is supplied in its own enclosure and represents the evolution of lifts, making the lift fitting for a sustainable and affordable energy flagship. The Piccolo is suitable for people of all mobilities and welcomes everyone to a facility that demonstrates how district heating operates and how it benefits the wider community.

Kier specified the Piccolo, with the new-to-market Piccolo attracting attention for its low-cost, flexible solution to democratic access in constricted locations.

The Piccolo enables people of compromised mobility to access the Visitor Centre, an interactive educational suite ranged over the entrance hall and first-floor gallery/balcony. The lift can carry up to 400kg, easily sand safely and also fits where other passenger lifts can’t.

With a vinyl skin plate finish, handrail, silver half-height mirror, black stud flooring and intercom, complimenting the monochrome environment.

In addition, the lift ensures that the Centre meets the requirements of the Equality Act 2010.

The Piccolo is covered by Stannah’s comprehensive lift servicing plan, with two service visits in the first year and continued lift maintenance by the London and the South East branch of Stannah Lift Services.
