SMARTair KeyPad Escutcheon offers simple way to filter access to sensitive areas

The SMARTair Standalone KeyPad Escutcheon from TESA, a division of ASSA ABLOY, adds PIN-powered control to any door, protecting areas from unauthorised visitors without the need for wires or software installation.

The wireless locking device features a sleek and slim design that provides small businesses, as well as education, medical and retail premises, a simple way to filter access through any door, without needing a complete electronic access control system.

Easy to install, the SMARTair Standalone KeyPad Escutcheon requires no wiring, drilling or software configuration. The keypad adds electronic PIN security that supports up to 100 different 4- to 6-number PINs, added via a programming card, and has an audible buzzer to confirm permission.

The SMARTair keypad also supports up to 500 standard RFID cards per device, offering a choice between authentication options.

Available for Euro, Scandinavian and DIN profiles, the Standalone KeyPad Escutcheon fits wooden, glass and narrow doors, and is powered by a standard lithium-ion battery.

The Standalone KeyPad Escutcheon can also as a stepping stone towards a more integrated, software-powered system. The device can be upgraded to operate as part of a modular, fully scalable SMARTair system that provides real-time access control and audit trails.

An upgraded system will allow users to open doors with contactless smart cards, or remotely using a smartphone app. Administrators will be able to issue or revoke keycard access instantly using a secure online tool.
