Altius releases guide for better management of subcontractors 

Altius has developed a guide and questionnaire, which contract managers can use to assess whether they are following best practice procedures when managing subcontractors.

Subcontractors can often be difficult to manage. If they fail to complete work on time, or deal with an incident on site, contract managers can be penalised for their mistakes.

With this in mind, Altius has developed a self-assessment guide to help contract managers to examine how effective their current procedures are. 

Better management of subcontractors

The 10-minute questionnaire covers key subcontractor management areas, such as: monitoring and reviewing; organising and planning subcontractor work; current procurement procedures; policies, regulations and contracts; and assessing subcontractor quality.

The questionnaire will produce a set of tailored results, revealing which current procedures need work. The results will also suggest how contract managers fare against health and safety best practice.
