Tips to make your small garden a big hit

Garden space can be limited in city centres, but with these tips any small garden design can still look good no-matter how big or small.

Create a living wall

Install a trellis or hanging planters on one of the fences surrounding the garden to create a colourful “living wall” and remove shrubbery and flowerbeds to free up space on the ground.

Create strong lines with the landscaping

Use interlocking paving, decks, or stones to create different zones in your garden and add variety to your small space.

Lighten up

Opt for light coloured surfaces, stones and paints to reflect light and open up the garden.

Water features

Water can reflect natural sunlight to make a space feel bigger – whether it’s a small pond, fountain, or a geometric waterfall, small water items can achieve a big impact in a little space.

Take the inside outdoors

Create an outdoor room in your garden using a gazebo or pergola to set the scene and add some outdoor furniture to complete the look.
