Generous Crown Paints donate bench to sheltered housing scheme

  • 18 Oct 2017

Crown Paints has donated a bench to Morfa Cadfan, a sheltered housing scheme in Tywyn, Gwynedd, as part of a redecoration scheme.

The communal areas of North Wales’ largest housing association have been redecorated in conjunction with the Tywyn Project and to mark its completion, residents were presented with a bench made from recycled paint containers.

Andrew Parker, Contract Sales Manager at Crown Paints, commented: “We’re really pleased with the outcome of the project and it’s great that the residents can make good use of the bench.

“This is the first time we’ve worked with CCG (Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd, the housing association) and we’re looking forward to working with them in the future.”

The Crown Paints Specification Team visited the site at the end of 2016 to scope out colour schemes and the best products for the task at hand.

The work saw the walls of all the corridors and stairwells have Crown Trade Timonox Acrylic Eggshell applied, as well as the reception and lounge.

A variety of Crown products were used, with the ceilings being decorated with Crown Trade Timonox Vinyl Matt and the Crown Trade Fastflow Gloss System used on the metal and wood trims.

Crown Trade’s Timonox flame retardant system has played a pivotal role in fire safety for over 40 years, by slowing down the spread of flames, thus aiding the evacuation of buildings.

The system, used on walls and ceilings, can achieve the class 0 status required by legislation, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order (RRFSO) in England and Wales and The Fire (Scotland) Act 2005.
