High insulation, minimal heating at Hemsec House

  • 31 Oct 2017

Structural Insulated Panels from Hemsec have resulted in a house requiring minimal heating, ensuring it equals or betters Passivhaus Standards.

The new build project in Black Isle, Scotland, features high levels of insulation and air-tightness incorporated within its design.

A smooth white render to the external blockwork finishes off the property, complimented by stained larch and high performance Aluclad Scandinavian triple glazed timber windows.

The project features 220 square metres of 180mm thick panels, along with first floor vaulted ceilings up to ridge level.

SIPs Panels have a quick assembly time, with a wind and watertight shell, allowing for work to continue in inclement weather.

Their high racking strength also mean SIPs can withstand high wind loadings, obviously vital for a building the North of Scotland.
